Welcome to the home of the STLinux distribution. This is a Linux
distribution targetted at STMicroelectronics
Consumer electronics parts which are based around the ST40 or ST200
CPUs.
Latest updates

(Added 5th Nov 2007) The STLinux Distribution version 2.3 is now available for the ST40.
This includes updates to the Linux kernel, gcc and any other packages.

(Added 29th Mar 2007) An early access realease of the 2.3 STLinux distribution is now
available. This is the first release which includes ARM support.

(Added 28th Nov 2006) Details of updates to the STLinux Distribution version 2.2 are
now available from the updates page.
This information is also available in the form of an
RSS feed which can be used with your chosen
feed reader to get automatic notification when an update is available.

(Added 20th Oct 2006) The STLinux Distribution version 2.2 is now available. This provides
updates to a large number of packages including the kernel and
toolchain. It also includes a unified host gdb, which can be used for
download and debug of the Linux kernel using the ST MicroConnect.

(Added 12th Jun 2006) The seventh email detailing recent updates to the STLinux Distribution
version 2.0 has been sent out. Details are available from the mailing list

(Added 22nd May 2006) The sixth set of updates to the STLinux Distributon version 2.0

(Added 26th Jan 2006) An updated set of stdcmd GDB scripts for the ST40 R3.0.3 toolchain
which is used to download and boot kernels from the ST40 Linux 2.0

(Added 16th Jan 2006) The third set of updates to the STLinux Distributon version 2.0

(Added 8th Nov 2005) The first set of updates to the STLinux Distributon version 2.0

(Added 7th Oct 2005) The full product release of the STLinux Distributon version 2.0
is now available. This includes a new installer based around yum
which should make future updates much easier. All the documentation
has been updated to reflect the 2.0 release, including a new

(Added 16th Jul 2005) The fourth update to the STLinux distributon version 2.0
Early Access Release (EAR) is now available.

(Added 13th Apr 2005) Early access releases of the next generation of the ST40 Linux distribution,
Linux 2.0, now available for download.

(Added 21st Feb 2005) A new release of the ST40 Linux distribution has been made.
Version 1.0_pl2
(patch level 2) collects all the existing updates and fixes to
the 1.0_pl1 release.

(Added 10th Jan 2005) Added details of the STLinux Distribution version 2.0
Early Access Release. This gives
users of the STLinux distribution a preview of what to expect in
the final release, and a chance to pick up changes to support new
hardware as soon as it is available.

(Added 21st Sep 2004) The final ST40 Linux distribution for
STi5528,
based on main release 1.0, is now available.

(Added 11th Jun 2004) We have installed Bugzilla
for logging bugs against the ST40 Linux distribution. Feel free to log
any problems you see.

(Added 4th Jun 2004) An update to the STi5528 Linux Alpha release is now available.

STi5528 Eval (mb376) and
STi5528 Espresso and
rolls up all the existing updates to the 1.0 release pl1.

rolls up all the existing updates to the 1.0 release pl1.

(Added 5th Mar 2003) A new release of the ST40 Linux distribution has been made.
Version 1.0_pl1 (patch level 1) rolls up all the existing updates
to the 1.0 release, and adds a couple of new ones.

(Added 27th Sep 2002) I've added a recommended books web pages,
describing some of the books we have found useful.

The external links page has been greatly
extended, and moved from the external MTD web server to this site, which
will allow easier and more frequent updates. Please let me know if you
find a site which would be of use to other people.

A couple of new articles in the howto section on how to use keyboards
with Linux on SH.
-
Most web pages should now have a 'printer-friendly' icon at the bottom,
which will generate a version of the page which looks better on paper.
Especially useful for the getting-started notes.

The web site has undergone a major overhaul. Hopefully it is now
easier for you to read, for me to maintain, and generally useful.
