STMicroelectronics Ethernet/USB STEM Module DB558

DB558 Ethernet STEM

This board is designed to plug into the STEM connector found on many of our boards. It provides Ethernet via a SMCS91C111 chip. The USB chip on this board is not supported under Linux and there are no plans to ever do so. The Ethernet connecton provides a 10 and 100Mbit link.

This board will require the correct jumper settings, EMI config and may even require some tracks to be cut in order to get it to function in the board you are working with. Refer to the appropriate documentation for your board.

MAC address allocation

Unfortunately these board went out without any MAC addresses blown into the EEPROM. This section of the user manual documents how to blow a MAC address into the EEPROM. A block of addresses has been retrospectively allocated to the board. The box below will give you the correct MAC address to blow into the EEPROM based on the serial number of the board. This only works for revision B of the board, revision A has no numbers allocated to it.
