Rev A modifications

To upgrade revA boards to revB specification, all that is needed is the addition of several pull-up resistors to the 5V PCI bus.

All of these consist of a resistor (4K7) connecting a signal to 3V3 (they should be 5V, but 3V3 is good enough). Where you make the mod is irrelevant. However the easiest way to do this is directly onto the pins of the surface mount PCI connectors. To make access as easy as possible, all the solder side mods can be done on the right hand connector (as you look at the board with the serial ports facing you), and the component side mods on the left hand 5V connector.

If you use a small SMT resistor it is possible to simply bridge two adjacent pins.

Side B (component side)

35 (IRDY#) - 36 (3V3)
36 (3V3) - 37 (DEVSEL#)
39 (LOCK#) - 41 (3V3)

Side A (solder side)

33 (3V3) - 34 (FRAME#)
33 (3V3) - 36 (TRDY#)
38 (STOP#) - 39 (3V3)

This brings the revA board upto revB standard. Two additional pull-up resistors are still needed on the PERR# or SERR# lines, and can be done in the same way:

Side B (component side)

40 (PERR#) - 41 (3V3)
41 (3V3) - 42 (SERR#)
