Stb7100 Revision Identification
|
|
It can be very difficult to identify which revision of a chip
you have. This page collects some of the information we
have found which might help.
Most of this information is 'reverse engineered' from parts we have
seen. If you have a part where the markings are different from those
listed here, and you know what it is, please let us know.
There appear to be two different styles of marking:
-
For engineering sample (ES) parts the major and minor silicon
revision is clearly marked. So far example for a STB7100 cut 1.0:
| STx7100ZWA-ES |
Chip name. First letter after the part name indicate security options
(Z=development version). Last letter is major revision (A=1, B=1 etc).
ES=engineering sample. |
| A0E-Q451ACP |
chip revison: letter=major cut, number=minor cut (eg A0=1.0) |
| 3G104 VQ |
manufacturing batch |
| FRA 3G 503 |
manufacturing location and date |
-
For production parts the markings are different. These are documented
in the STb7100 datasheet:
The STx7100 is available in several variants. These are differentiated
by between two and four suffix letters in the product code, as summarised
below:
| Market type |
Chip revision |
Leaded or unleaded |
Delivery type |
| Z | Development version, security disabled |
| J | Nagra C+ |
| O | Nagra Premier |
| Q | Nagra Dedicated |
| T | Viaccess France Telecom |
| I | TPS |
|
|
| P | Unleaded (for STi and STm 7100) |
| L | Unleaded (for STb 7100) |
| - | Leaded |
|
|
However it doesn't appear as if markings always follow this
description, and this doesn't explain how to find the minor revision
number.
