ST40 Linux Distribution-1.0_pl2

The Rel. 1.0-pl2 collects all the patches and functionalities
so far distributed to support the STi5528 and STm8000, together with
all the fixes raised in the maintenance path of the Rel. 1.0
It is based on release 1.0. and it is available in both forms: as a
collection of RPM packages and as a single CD-ISO image.
Sources are available as well.

Linux Kernel

HDDI-ATAPI Hard Disk used in Ultra DMA mode is now more reliable,
tested with disks from different manufacturer (Maxtor, Western
Digital and Seagate) and more easy to configure. The DMA transfer
mode is fixed to UDMA-4.

CD-Rom and DVD are also supported but in PIO mode only.
CD-Rom have been tested only on Espresso and STi5528 Evaluation
board (Mb376).

KGDB: a kernel debug session can now be entered asynchronously
while the system is executing, by typing Control-A F on
KGDB console. Support for loadable modules is also provided.
- Both silicon cuts of STi5528: 1.3 and 2.0 are supported.

files and update those distribuited with the ST40 Rel. 2.1.4
toolset in:
/opt/STM/ST40R2.1.4/sh-superh-elf/stdcmd/...
The same set of command files are also compatible with the ST40
toolset Rel. 2.1.3
- Includes the IPL program to boot Linux from FLASH on ST220
Evaluation platform (Mb392).

Includes support for launching ST220 applications from Linux
ST40 on both platforms: ST220 Evaluation board (Mb392) and STm8000
Demo board (Mb379), see the Getting Started -
Dual Boot section.
This functionalty requires the ST200 toolset Rel. 4.0
installed on the Linux host.
Utilities and services
- The st40load_gdb utility, to load and launch the kernel on
the targets via ST MicroConnect, is now a RPM package
- The LIRC-0.6.6 package, with the STM plugin, is included
- The ST RPC packages has been included
- The hdparm utility is provided
Platform supported
It's likely that, due to their obsolescence most of the platforms below
mentioned will no longer supported in the future releases.
