ST200

Documentaton describing how to run the STLinux distribution on ST231 based parts is available from the ST200 Linux pages.

ST40

The ST40 Linux Rel. 2.0 requires the ST40 Micro toolset Rel. 3.0.2 to be installed first. This provides the sh4gdb to download target applications via the STM Microconnect, and a complete set of command files used by GDB to perform the initial HW setup.

Note: before starting to work with linux you need to update these command files for the Espresso, STi5528 Eval (MB376) and STb7100 MBoard (mb411) platforms. The command files are installed by the ST40 toolset in:

/opt/STM/ST40R3.0.2/sh-superh-elf/stdcmd/...

To update these files download the appropriate tarball for either the 3.0.2 or 3.0.3 toolset releases. Unpack these archives, and replace the original files in the location above (it would be advisable to make a backup first!). These updates are required to enable support of ethernet and to be compatible with both the current silicon versions of the STi5528 chip (cuts 1.3 and 2.0). The 3.0.3 version also adds support for the STm7100 cut 1.3. In the case the gdb command to execute changes to mb411cut13bypass and mb411cut13stmmx depending on whether a Multicore Mux box is in use.
