Overview

STLinux Eclipse 1.0.0 is a set of Eclipse plugins that provide support for STLinux-2.0 on the ST40 and ST200, including:

  • Managed Make and debug of STLinux applications, libraries and kernel modules,
  • kernel debugging using KGDB2,
  • extensive tutorials on:
    • using Eclipse to boot the Linux kernel,
    • using Managed Make to build Linux user mode applications,
    • debugging user mode applications,
    • using Eclipse to build and debug the Linux kernel,
    • using Eclipse to build and debug kernel modules.

This release is intended for use with STLinux-2.0 and so can only be run on a Linux host.

The following tools are required:

No other versions of Eclipse and CDT are supported.

Installation

Important Note: If any previous STLinux Eclipse plugins have been installed, they should be removed to avoid clashes.

The STLinux Eclipse plugins are available in the STLinux-2.0 distribution at:

 /opt/STM/STLinux-2.0/host/share/eclipse

In Eclipse, go to Help > Software Updates > Find and Install and use the wizard to install the new features from the local update site at that location.

When the plugins have been installed, the Eclipse help system will contain detailed information on STLinux-2.0 along with tutorials on using Eclipse with STLinux on ST40 and ST200. Select Help > Help Contents and expand the STLinux User Guide section.
