ST Linux distribution development and support
The Team
ST’s
Bristol based Operating System team develop Operating system and
advanced system software for ST’s embedded system-on-chip devices. The
team work on a variety of projects, including, for example:
- The development and support of an ST embedded Linux distribution
- The design and implementation of a light-weight RTOS
- The development of a software architecture and framework for on-chip multi-processor communications
- Provision of multimedia and graphics support for a variety of embedded platforms
The team are multi-disciplinary and
work closely with both ST’s application divisions (Consumer,
Automotive, Computer peripheral, Mobile) and ST’s
systems/processor development division.
Initiative and technical ability are the key attributes required of potential team members.
The Roles
The roles are for experienced individual technical contributors to join
the Bristol team initially to work on:
- Linux device driver and distribution development for pre-silicon and product embedded platforms
- Heterogeneous Multi-processor (including SMP) infra-structure development
- 3D Graphics, multi-media, and security support
Key Skills and Experience
- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
- Linux internals and device driver/ multimedia development background
- Highly competent in C, C++ programming languages
- Embedded software development
- Understanding of “close to the metal” HW issues
- Understanding and experience of real time systems
