LTP run over 1150 tests; covering key Linux kernel areas that it needs to stress and test. Main LTP key areas are:

  • Kernel Tests
    • Threads Testing, Socket client and server, Test file and thread limits, Memory stress tests Pthreads library routines
  • SGI Test Case Details
    • simple system call tests that verify functionality
  • Application Development Environment
    • commands test cases that are commonly used in application development
  • Network Tests
    • network tests for remote procedure calls
  • Network Stress Tests
    • to stress net device in its foundamental capabilities. We chose to execute these tests separately respect the others, this because they need other scripts and other HW configuration.
  • Filesystem Tests
    • miscellaneous test about filesystem robustness and functionality
